President

Janet “TJ” Taub’s professional communications career began in 1986. Her experience includes the design and implementation of marketing and communications programs, collateral production and media relations.

She has worked with clients in areas such as economic development, energy, government, finance, health care, education, human resource development, land development, homebuilding and non-profit organizations. She has provided management services including strategic planning, collateral production and financial management for associations. She has also managed, written for, edited and produced multiple issues of a magazine targeted to the Hispanic community.

Taub has also developed and executed issue-oriented public affairs election campaigns at state, county, city and school district levels. Campaigns have included mass transit, utility regulation, city and county bonds, school budget override, “No” on Official English, the environment and insurance reform.

Prior to 1986, Taub worked in both public and private sectors. She was Assistant to the Chancellor for Student Affairs and Title IX Officer for the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater where a portion of her responsibilities included directing the University's orientation program and serving as a member of Chancellor’s Cabinet, university budget, program and policy committees. In Arizona, she did several projects for one of the Maricopa County Community Colleges.

In the private sector, Taub’s background includes collection and analysis of public opinion research, administration of training programs for Motorola Inc. Semiconductor, and research involving major U.S. corporations for Motorola Corporate Training and Development.

Dr. Taub completed her Bachelors of Science in psychology at Colorado State University, her Masters in Counseling and her Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration at Arizona State University.

She served on the Boards of Directors for the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce, Community Housing Resources of Arizona, Valley Citizen’s League, Arizona Community School of the Arts, and was a member of the Arizona Town Hall.

WALTER W. MEEK

Bill Meek has owned or operated some of the leading public relations/public affairs companies in the Southwest, with a client base stretching from San Diego to New York City. Prior to Southwest Public Relations Associates, Meek was the chief executive officer of Meek, Foudy & Zimmerman, Inc. (Phoenix and Tucson).
Meek has worked professionally in communications since 1958 when he graduated from college and signed on as a general assignment reporter with the Bergen Evening Record in Hackensack, N.J. His 13 years in journalism include two years as capitol bureau chief for The Detroit Free Press in Lansing Michigan, and 10 years as an investigative reporter and editor at The Arizona Republic in Phoenix.
Meek also served as a special assistant to the mayor of Phoenix in 1972-73. Prior to starting his own public relations firm in 1979, he spent four years with Arizona Public Service Company where he worked as assistant to the president, manager of the public affairs department and director of communications with responsibility for all corporate communications and advertising.

While at The Arizona Republic Meek was awarded a Lucius W. Nieman Fellowship to Harvard University where he studied American politics and Sino-Soviet relations. He was also the first recipient of the Virg Hill Newsman of the Year award from the Arizona Press Club in 1970.
Since 1972, Meek has managed or supervised 25 issues election campaigns at the state, county and city levels. These campaigns have included initiative, referendum and bond elections and in three cases involved qualifying initiatives for the state election ballot.

Meek has a B.A. in English Literature from LaFayette College, PA., where he was graduated with honors.
